10 young West Dunbartonshire students are about to go around the area on a mission of helping people and fundraising through the Prince’s Trust 12 week team building course.

So far on the course we have took part in various activities on week 1 there was an introduction to the team and what it was all about. Week 2 was planning for the residential, projects, work placements and fundraising. Week 3 was our residential where we went away as a team to Ardroy, Lochgoilhead where we took part in team building exercises such as canoeing, gorge walking, abseiling and a serious of other challenges.

Team 24 have a few community projects lined up for the upcoming weeks such as Dalmonach Nursery to paint the burnt down children’s house and painting the West End Project in the Dumbarton Campus.

We are also participating in fundraising to raise money for the teams final Team Challenge on week 11, we hope to raise in excess of £500 the team came up with a variety of fundraisers such as a car wash, bingo morning, sponsored cycle around Millport and we will be going around the local area Bucket Bashing with kilts on. We will be going to Balloch, Dumbarton, Helensburgh, and Clydebank at some point in May. We have already had two fundraisers the carwash and bingo morning both have went well, we have raised £436 with more to come.

I would like to reserve a special thanks to Totally Tartan Kilts Alexandria for lending the team kilts for the street collection.

Team 24 Members; Jamie MacLean, Tam Ferguson, Ross Douglas, Gary Draycott, Ewan Paterson, Karen McKay, Donald Conkie, Kevin Wilson, Julie Wier and Tricia Brown
